The Original Phoenix
My mom battled Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease) like a boss for over thirty years, and never once said, "Why me?" No, she said, "I got places to go, people to see, and grandbabies to raise. Ain't nobody got time for dying." She inspired everyone who knew her to live every moment as if it were the last. God, I miss her. I remind myself everyday to carry on with her legacy. Photo credit: Carole Troia
