Piñon Flats
Next time you wake up in the middle of the night, don't roll over and go back to sleep!
Glacier Basin
Perfect place to view the every-changing skies
Aspen Glen
Nice quiet little campground
Let Me Out!
Wild pony territory. Do not mess with these horses!
Hidden Behind the Dunes
Absolutely one of my favorite camping spots ever. The ocean's just over the dune.
Potatoes All Day Long
Soups, salads, snacks, sides... parboiled, tossed with olive oil, seasoned with salt and pepper, then grilled.
Camp Cooking Essentials
A generous and sturdy coffee mug, fresh ground coffee, EVOO, pink Himalayan sea salt and pepper.
Wait, what?!
A bottle opener for a Guinness? Not so much, but nevertheless, it does come in handy, along with that corkscrew...
Shark-Pedo
Shark or Torpedo? Actually, the route my daughter and I took on our first cross-country road trip together in my T@b Outback. We hit something like twelve national parks and fourteen breweries (or vice-versa) in four weeks. Inspiration courtesy of my mom, the Original Phoenix. We miss you, Mom, even though you're everywhere with us.
House Rules
Take your shoes off! And close the screens... and turn off the water pump... and use flashlights... and... ;)
Girl's Best Friend
Never leave home without your Leatherman. Or your hiking stick. Or your fire stick, for that matter.
T@b at Mathews Arm
She travels so well... and did I mention how she morphs from a beach house to a mountain house from one weekend to the next?!
Tiny Housekeeping
Decided to do some housekeeping at Mathews Arm since I brought last weekend's beach sand to the mountains with me. Didn't take long at all.
Behind the Dunes
At Assateague National Seashore, but let's keep this one a secret, shall we?
Sunrise Beyond the Dune
Morning view from my weekend beach house at Assateague.
My Living Room
Premium Mazama Campground sites at Crater Lake come fully furnished.
Cedar Pass
First national park stop was at Badlands on that epic cross-country road trip with my daughter Jaimie. She had come home from Thailand for my mom's funeral at Arlington National Cemetery in June of 2015 and surprised me by joining me on this trip. What an amazing journey.
The Good Life
One of my first outings in my T@b Outback was to Mathews Arm at Shenandoah National Park. Puppies, hammock, trailer, lawn chair... pretty sure there's beer in the fridge...
Plan C
My life changed the day I bought my T@b Outback in the spring of 2015. I guess I saved the best for last!
