I'm a public school teacher with a teardrop trailer and a camera. My interest in photography began when I discovered that it was a way I could bring the beauty of the outside world to my mom, The Original Phoenix, who fought a valiant battle against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's disease) for over thirty years. When my mom was finally freed from her confinement on August 31, 2014, I was inspired to travel across the country towing my teardrop trailer in search of new horizons.
When I am not educating students, I am usually either walking, biking, or practicing yoga in and around Old Town Alexandria, unless it's summer time, then I'm camping, hiking, or exploring national or local parks. And I am so happy to share my love of photography, travel, and teaching with you.
And now, if you'll excuse me, "I have a rendezvous beyond my beloved horizon." ~ Captain Jack Sparrow
